9 Most Beautiful Riads in Fes, Morocco for Couples (Where to Stay in Fes)
Looking for the best riads in Fes to stay as a couple? I’ve got the most gorgeous and romantic riads in Fes for you…

If you’re coming to Fes and looking for a romantic place to stay as a couple, DANG you are in luck! The Imperial City of Fes is absolutely chock full of gorgeous tiles, mosaics, and gates, and the riads in Fes really reflect that aesthetic.
What makes it even better is that these riads are generally pretty inexpensive for the luxury they offer (compared to Western Europe or the USA), making it a dream destination for couples who want to experience the splendor of Morocco.

Palatial, intricate tilework, beautiful arches, 4-poster beds, stained glass – Riad Sara is perfection.
Bonus is that it’s on a quiet side street, in easy walking distance to all the main attractions, and there is public parking nearby.
I won’t lie, I legit felt like a QUEEN staying in our riad in Fes and I’d recommend it to everyone and anyone.
The rest of the recommendations on this list are based on my own personal experience visiting Fes and identifying the best areas to stay in the city, and my extensive research into the best riads in each area. When I go back to Fes again (because I will someday!) I won’t hesitate to stay at any of the riads or hotels on this list.
Best Riads in the Fes El Badi Neighborhood
Fes El Badi is the Old Town of Fes. This is where the medina is, and you’ll find most of the things to do in Fes here, including the Blue Gate, the Madrasa Al-Attarine and Madrasa Bou Inania, the Chouara Tanneries, and lots of souks.
This is where to stay in Fes to be close to everything and to stay in the oldest and most historic part of the city.
The riads in this part of Fes are all located in historic homes and manors and are gooooooorgeoous. Note that the medina area of Fes is almost exclusively a pedestrian zone, so you will probably need to walk a little bit from where you get dropped off to your riad.
1. Riad Sara

Riad Sara is a palatial, jaw-droppingly gorgeous riad in Fes. Tiles, arches, fountains, intricate mosaics, carved cedarwood and stucco, and stained glass adorn literally every surface of this riad. The details are exquisite.
The service and staff are also absolutely top-notch, and you’re located less than 10 minutes from the Blue Gate. This is where we stayed, and I loved every second.

2. Riad Damia
Riad Damia is a romantic riad offering beautiful tiles, cedarwood, and Moroccan decorations covering the entire room.
This riad offers both regular rooms and suites, but I would definitely recommend booking one of the suites – it’s not that much more expensive, and the suites are gorgeous, quite large, and very romantic.

3. Riad Arabesque and Spa
Riad Arabesque and Spa is a gorgeous, light and bright riad on the north end of the medina and offers deep cedarwood doors and accents, tiled floors, walls, ceilings, and a plunge pool. This is a bit of a unique feature for riads in Fes and makes this one even more photogenic.
There’s a beautiful rooftop terrace, and an on-site spa to maximize your time in Fes.

4. Riad Braya
Riad Braya is a beautiful riad that in addition to the arches, tiles, and carved stucco, also has many plants and trees, and a pool in the courtyard, creating a lovely garden atmosphere.
Rooms and bathrooms are really well-decorated and the views over Fes from the rooftop terrace are fantastic.

5. Riad Mayfez Suites & Spa – (Most Upscale)
Riad Mayfez Suites & Spa is a luxury boutique riad in Fes with expansive grounds. Enjoy a large garden and terrace area with an outdoor pool and lots of space for relaxing, plus a Hamman and on-site restaurant.
The suites are very large and luxurious, with incredible attention to detail (and some suites have private terraces).
Fel El Jdid Neighborhood
This part of Fes is newer than the medina and old Fes (aka Fes El-Badi). It’s still very old and historic, but you’ll find far fewer tourists in this part of town. Fel El Jdid is where to stay in Fes if you want to be close to the action, but maybe not riiiiiiight in the heart of the most touristy part of town.
You’ll find the Garden Jnan Sbil in this neighborhood, as well as the Royal Palace. There aren’t very many hotel or riad options in this neighborhood, but the following accommodation is the best option in this part of Fes:
6. Riad Reda
Riad Reda is a great property in Fes El Jdid, with a common area that is very traditional Moroccan style, and guest rooms that are more modernized (but still have lots of Moroccan touches).
There is an on-site restaurant, bar, and spa at Riad Reda, and it’s about a 15 minute walk to the Blue Gate.

Ville Nouvelle
This is the most modern part of Fes and where you can find the most nightlife. It’s pretty far to walk from this neighborhood to the medina, so I’d consider taking a taxi there and back when heading into old town.
You’ll pay more for accommodations here, and your options include more large hotels than small, intimate riads. However, all of the options on this list still have a lot of Moroccan architecture and charm, and are really lovely places to stay in Fes.
7. Hotel Sahrai (Luxury Option)
Hotel Sahrai is a gorgeous, upscale hotel on the edge of the city, with the countryside near Fes visible from the terraces and infinity pool of the hotel.
All the private and public spaces in the hotel feel indulgent and luxurious and there’s a boutique spa and fitness center on-site. This is one of the best riads in Fes for modern luxury.
Hotel Sahrai is about 35 minutes walk from the medina, or a 9 minute ride.

8. Palais Medina and Spa (Best Budget-Friendly)
At Palais Medina and Spa, you’ll enjoy a large, beautiful pool area with a pool bar and large, modern rooms. There is also an on-site luxury spa with a variety of services. It’s a 30 minute walk or 5 minute drive to the medina from this hotel.

9. Fes Marriott Hotel Jnan Palace (Mid-Range)
The Fes Marriott Jnan Palace is no run-of-the-mill Marriott, and it combines modern comforts with gorgeous Moroccan design seamlessly. The hotel has a massive pool, gorgeous mosaics, and delicious restaurants.
It’s a 12-minute drive or 1 hour walk to the medina from the hotel.

The Wrap Up
Any of the riads or hotels on this list will be an incredible home base for your time in Fes (truly, you won’t want to leave) After you’ve finished your time in Fes, you’ll definitely want to do a tour out to the Sahara Desert, visit Marrakech, or stop by the incredible blue city of Chefchaouen.
